David H. Darling

1927 - 2017

BELLINGHAM MA- David H. Darling, 89, of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Milford Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband of the late Irene T. (Boyle) Darling. Born in Woonsocket, RI on September 23, 1927, he is the son of the late
Fred S. and Gladys A. (Howes) Darling. He is the loving father of Kathleen Dufresne and her husband, Leo of Bellingham, MA, Patricia E. St. Gelais and her husband, Richard of Bellingham, MA and Sandra Darling Rice and her husband, Howie of Block Island, RI. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Belinda Mazzuchelli and her husband, Joseph, Seth Dulac and his wife, Jessica Veldman, Richard Drainville, Dayna Charbonneau, Cyrus Dulac and the late Jack Martel, and great-grandchildren, Brendan Mazzuchelli, Brooke Mazzuchelli and Amber Charbonneau. He is the brother of Warren Darling and his wife Patricia of Woonsocket, RI, Shirley Tyler and her late husband, Cliff of Circleville, OH and her late twin sister who died at birth Ruth Darling. He leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was a resident of Bellingham since 1948 formerly of Woonsocket. Mr. Darling owned and operated Dave's Garage in Bellingham for over 30 years until retiring. Previously he worked at Wood Avenue Motor Sales in Woonsocket.
He was a member of the MBBA (Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association). He raised rabbits for over 50 years and was fondly known as "The Bunny Man". He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going to and fishing at Race Point on Cape Cod. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 2nd at 10:00AM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Interment will follow at Cook's Cemetery, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, March 1st from 5PM to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
