David Carl Schnorr

NORTH SMITHFIELD - David C. Schnorr, 70 of North Smithfield, RI, died February 10, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. Born in Woonsocket, RI he was the son of the late Donald and Jeanette (Cournoyer) Schnorr.

David was a 1968 graduate of North Smithfield Jr. Sr. High School. He was a police officer for 15 years for the town of North Smithfield. He also worked for his father doing construction for Don Schnorr Excavating. After retiring from the police department, he worked for Hood Construction in Uxbridge, MA, Larusso Corporation in Plainville, MA, and Rhode Island Resource Recovery in Johnston, RI.

David was a Vietnam Vet. Growing up he spent summers living on Pascoag Lake. He had so many fond memories of his family and friends on the lake.

David loved coaching his sons hockey and soccer teams, he loved watching his daughter and granddaughters dance and his grandson play hockey. His grandchildren brought him so much joy.

He leaves his children Heidi Smith and husband Christopher of Blackstone, MA, David Schnorr and wife Tricia of Ocala, FL; his sister Laurie Brissette of Port Orange, FL and his grandchildren Hannah, Ryan, Meghan and Ryleigh Smith.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2021 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, Slatersville. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service, 830 Chalkstone Boulevard, Providence, RI 02908.
