Deborah Pierini Obituary

CUMBERLAND - Deborah Michelle Cherry-PIERINI, 61 of Roosevelt Road in Cumberland, lost her battle with ALS in her home early Monday morning August 20, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of the late James Francis and Olive Lucille (Lemieux) Cherry. She was the best friend and wife of Kenneth Pierini.
Deborah's life was amazing, and she accomplished so much in a short time. To highlight a few she attended Regis College, Rhode Island College, Providence College and Brown University. She received a double Master's Degree in English as a second language and School Administration. She worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line International in the late 1980's on THE SONG of AMERICA, as director of activity for children. She worked for the City of Cranston as a teacher for 18 years. She left Cranston School Department to open up her own school in her home town of Cumberland, called the CHERRY BLOSSOM JOURNEY SCHOOL, on Mendon Road, but out of all her accomplishments, her favorite title/position was being called MOM.
Debbie was known for her artistic ability, holiday cooking, Christmas spirit and amazing ginormous Christmas Trees.
Beside her loving husband she is survived by her four loving Children Sarah, Noah, Maggie and MikenziePierini all of Cumberland; two sisters M. Elizabeth Taylor and her husband Dwight of West Greenwich, RI and Susan M. Melia and her Husband James of Cumberland, several nieces and nephews, and her faithful companion Crockett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday August 25, 2018 at 11:30 am in St. Joseph Church 1303 Mendon Road Cumberland, RI 02864. Calling hours are respectfully omitted and burial will be private at the request of the family. The arrangements are entrusted to The Lincoln Funeral Home under the direction of Paulette Bedard and James Richard Melia.

So very, saddened and sorry to hear of Deb's passing.
Deb and I traveled in the same circles quite some time ago. As a newcomer to the social circle, Deb was very warm and welcoming. We had many "like minded" conversations that often come to mind after all these years.
Losing a loved one can bring unspeakable grief. Hopefully you can take some comfort in knowing how special she was to me and how far reaching her kindbess spread.

We are extremely saddened to hear of Debbie's passing. Debbie was our precious cousin, friend and colleague. She was always ready to give of herself to anyone~~~especially children. Her goodness will live on in her wonderful family. May she rest in peace. Love, prayers and sympathy, Kathy and Norm Menard
