Doris M. Carrier

Doris M. (Cyr) Carrier, 89, of Woosocket, RI, died July 22, 2021 in the Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Carrier. Born in Biddeford Maine, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse Cyr and Marguerite (Aube) Cyr Rouselle.
Mrs. Carrier graduated from St. Joseph High School, Biddeford, ME, before attending for two years at Johnson & Wales evening college in Providence, RI. She worked as a Visual Final Inspector for Printed Circuit Boards for many years. She volunteered as a clerical worker in Rhode Island Hospital, and in the admitting office of Landmark Medical Center for ten years. Mrs. Carrier also worked for five years for the AARP Senior Work Program, until her retirement.
She was a devoted member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Woonsocket, for many years. She was a former member of the St. Mark Senior Group, the Golden Hearts Club, the Kennedy Manor Senior Citizen's Club, as well as the Women's Club of the YWCA, Woonsocket. Mrs. Carrier was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, daily walks, bus trips and of course working on crosswords and picture puzzles with her grandchildren. When she was younger, she loved to dance, bowling and spending summers at Old Orchard Beach, ME.
She is survived by her loving son Michael Carrier, and his wife, Ewa of Massachusetts; her half-sister, Marie Sullivan, and her husband, Charles of Agawam, MA; four grandchildren, Amanda and Olivia Carrier, John and Christopher Clark; an aunt, Theresa Aube of NH; and a dear cousin, Claire Aube Tobin of FL; as well as many cousins in Maine and Canada; and her estranged daughter and brother, Debra Carrier and Renald Cyr.
Her funeral will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10AM in St. Mark Lutheran Church, 871 Harris Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 871 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
