Suzanne Harvey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holt Funeral Home on Feb. 23, 2026.
Suzanne T. Harvey, 70, of Woonsocket, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Valley View Nursing Home, Woonsocket, surrounded by her close family. The wife of the late Jeffrey Harvey, Suzanne, was born in Woonsocket and was the daughter of the late Lucien and Theresa (Perron) Desjardins.
During her years, Suzanne worked conscientiously as an early education assistant for Head Start and ABC Child Care. Being able to teach these children was truly her passion and something she held very close to her heart. She found endless joy in not only teaching but also connecting and caring for the numerous children she had the pleasure of meeting along the way. She always made time for crafts, having a different crafting project for every holiday and season. Apple picking was her favorite in the fall, making sure to find her twin apples every time. Rod Stewart was her favorite singer; ask anyone she knew, and they could tell you how much she loved his music. Cooking was another true passion of Suzanne's; her chicken soup was a family favorite, and her recipes will still be made and loved even though she is gone. A lot of her time was spent in New Hampshire, whether it was for leaf peeping season or being at the ocean. Her time there was heavily cherished.
She lives on in her children, who carry her love with them every day. Jennifer Fernandes and her sons, Joseph and Joshua Fernandes, of Woonsocket. Joshua Fontaine and his wife, Crystal King, along with their children, Josie, Jenna, and Jaxson Fontaine of Douglas. Before her own passing, Suzanne carried the profound loss of her granddaughter, Jordan Fontaine, daughter of Joshua Fontaine, deep in her heart. Her memory also lives on through her siblings, Paul Desjardins and his wife Karen, and Pauline Thibeault and her husband Leo, all of Woonsocket. Even though they may not be blood, two bonus grandchildren, Sophia and Olivia Dempsey, will hold Suzanne close to their hearts forever.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
