About
Anatol Menard Obituary
He was a proud World War II U.S. Navy Veteran who served from 1943 to 1946. During that time, he participated in the invasion of Normandy, France and the Battle of the Bulge, finally witnessing the liberation of Paris.
Mr. Menard worked as a machinist most of his life before his retirement. He was an active contributor to RIARC, and a lifetime member of the Italian Workingmen's Club, Woonsocket. He golfed until he reached the age of 96, and participated in many leagues and tournaments, while spending his winters in Florida and his summers with his family in Narragansett. He was an avid sports fan who seldom missed watching a Boston Red Sox or New England Patriots game.
Anatol is survived by his daughter, Sandra Cavedon, of Punta Gorda, FL with whom he resided. He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa, and his daughter, Donna.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service or calling hours. Family and friends are asked to remember him as "Shorty" the kind and gentle soul with a smile that lit up the room. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
