Elaine Delisle Obituary

ATTLEBORO - Elaine (George) Delisle died peacefully on Monday April 17, 2017 at the Golden Living Center of Attleboro.
She was born in Pawtucket, R.I. on September 3, 1928 to the late Giovanni and Agnes (Therrien) George.
In 1946, at age 18 Elaine married engineer Paul Leo St Pierre, her soldier boy and one of the original 'Mad Men'. Elaine graduated from beautician school in Boston, Ma. She is remembered as the quintessential 60's mom that worked at home as a hair dresser in her shop called Elaine's Beauty Shoppe. She was an artist at heart who dabbled in ceramics, painting and needlepoint all while maintaining a household of 3 boys, a husband and her hair dressing business.
Elaine's favorite leisure activity was being in her bathing suit in the sun by a friends or relatives pool, or by the ocean at Goose Wing beach or at Spring Lake. She also had an insatiable appetite for fashion and junk jewelry and always looked good in it, like a movie star.
After her first husband Paul St. Pierre passed away, she waited to remarry until her youngest graduated from college. That's when she met Henry Delisle another soldier boy whom she married in 1978. He was a devoted husband and took the best care of her. Elaine retired from hair dressing shortly after and they began to travel regularly. She traveled to Japan by herself to visit her son Ron and his Japanese wife Kaoru. Around 2011, Alzheimer's started to take her. First with the loss of her smell and taste, then her short term memory and health. All a tragic downhill slide from there. We have missed her dearly since her decline into Alzheimer's took her from us.
Elaine is survived by her sons, Paul St Pierre of Washington State and Daniel St Pierre of Massachusetts; Stepdaughters, Jocelyne Wakefield of North Carolina, Michelle Delisle of Connecticut, Odette Delisle of Rhode Island and Camille Delisle of Massachusetts; 14 grandchildren; and her sister's Adele St Pierre and Pauline Chevrette
Elaine was predeceased by first husband, Paul Leo St Pierre; second husband, Henry Delisle; brother, Victor George; Son, Ronald St Pierre; Grandson, Matthew St Pierre and stepdaughter Renee Delisle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9 - 10:30 am in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro.
Burial will follow in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
A cure for Alzheimer's must be found. It took our beautiful mom who had the patience of Mother Teresa, the kindness of June Cleaver and the loving tenderness of a Saint. She will be truly missed on earth but surely welcomed into heaven. In lieu of flowers please make a charitable donation to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation //www.alzinfo.org/
Thank You.
