Elaine Ecklar

1948 - 2022

BLACKSTONE - Elaine (McKeague) Ecklar, 74, of Blackstone, MA passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, Worcester, MA with loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late James O. Ecklar. Born in Boston, MA on January 3, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Francis McKeague and Ethel L. (Hough) (McKeague) Glover and her stepfather Robert K. Glover. She was the loving mother of Mark Eldridge and wife Tonia of Texas, Derek Stovall and fiancée Laurie Menard of Woonsocket, RI, Lori Moreira and husband Michael of Cumberland, RI, and stepmother of David Ecklar, Jessica Snow and Nicole Ecklar. She leaves her cherished 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Leo F. McKeague and his girlfriend Sandra Boudreau of Taunton, MA, and the late Lorraine McKeague.

Elaine was a resident of Blackstone for 37 years and spent winters in Palm Bay, FL for 10 years. She was a graduate of Medway High School. Elaine was a teacher at Evergreen Center in Milford for 35 years until retiring. She was a member of St. Paul Church, Blackstone.

She was an avid bowler in her younger years, a devoted Patriots fan, enjoyed camping and spending winters in Palm Bay, FL. She spent many summers at the Rhode Island beaches and her cottage at Scarborough. She enjoyed cookouts and spending time with family and friends. Elaine will be greatly missed.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 14th at 10:00AM at Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Interment will follow at 12PM at the Rhode Island Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Visiting hours are on Thursday, January 13th from 5PM to 7PM at the funeral home.
