My deepest sympathy to the McMahon family. I am so sorry to
hear of Gene's passing.
I had the pleasure of knowing Gene for many years and worked
with him in the Courthouse in Wakefield. Gene has a great wit
and personality. Gene, of course, was the consummate joke
and story teller. He had few equals in this regard. He was a fun
guy to be around and will be greatly missed.
I was fortunate to have know Gene.
May God bless him.

Gene McMahon was truly one of the best people I had the privilege to know.
Kind, knowledgeable, humorous, respectful, appreciative, to name just a few of his attributes.
He was loved by many, admired by legislators and fellow staff, respected by all and will always be remembered especially for his Irish wit, lasting friendshipsand as a distinguished public servant. One for the ages.

Whenever I feel down, I think about Gene. He always had a joke ready. His repertoire was endless. He will be missed by everybody, especially those in the public housing profession, where he served as a commissioner for many years.
Rest In Peace my friend. I can hear laughter coming from the heavens now!

I didn't know Gene personally, but I'll never forget that smiling face and the interaction I had with him in the early 2000s when he served as jury commissioner.
Called to Rhode Island jury duty for the first time, I'll never forget Gene and his ability to turn an often-dreaded civic duty into an amazing educational experience. He clearly enjoyed his job and relished in educating the jury pool about America's judicial system. My respect for jury duty was forever changed because of Gene's skill as jury commission.
My condolences to Gene's family at this time of loss. He was the kind of guy I wish I had the opportunity to know on a personal level, but his impact professionally was an equally indelible one.

To Beth, Tom, Jessica, Matthew, and the entire McMahon family,
Beth I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. I never had the opportunity to meet your dad in person, but from all of the stories I've heard from Tom I know that he was a caring gentleman that thought the world of his family and friends. I am also very confident that he was extremely proud to have you as a daughter. Try to remember that soon the happy memories of years past will start to bring you comfort. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family in this difficult time. God Bless!
