Fernando P. Maneca

CUMBERLAND - Fernando P. Maneca, 80 of Geldard Street, passed Tuesday in Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Providence. He was the husband of Maria S. (Almeida) Maneca.
Born in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel and Carma (Pais) Maneca. He came to this country in 1950 and was a longtime resident of Cumberland.
He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
Fernando was a member of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Fatima Church and also a member of the Cumberland Crime Stoppers and the Clube Juventude Lusitana, Cumberland.
He was also a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Beside his wife he is survived by his children; Fernando Maneca and his wife Vanessa Adato of Brooklyn, NY; Anna Maneca Fernandes and her husband Luis Fernandes of Cumberland; Lisa Maneca Dow and her husband Michael Dow of East Greenwich and Tina Maneca and her husband Joshua Tedeschi of Jersey City, NJ. One brother Antonio Maneca of Newport, VT. Seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive Cumberland. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
