Fred Hilton

CUMBERLAND - Fred Hilton, 74, of Cumberland, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Alice "Betty" (Goulet) Hilton. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Fred L. Hilton and Elizabeth M. (Pollitt) Hilton, he was a life long resident of Cumberland.
Fred was a painter for many years, and was a member of the Int'l Union of Painters, Local #195. He was a volunteer firefighter on the Valley Falls Fire Dept., where he also served as a member of the Board of Fire Wardens. He was a proud member of the Beagle Club where he served on the Board of Directors.
He loved boating, fishing, watching NASCAR and spending time with the love of his life of almost 54 years, "Betty" and his children and grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, David M. Hilton and his wife Deborah Hilton of Cumberland; daughter, Beth A. Scanlon and her husband Mark Scanlon of North Attleboro; his twin brother, Raymond Hilton; two sisters, Nancy Coffey and Debra L. Massei; six grandchildren, Ashley Hilton, Nicholas Hilton, Jack Hilton, Meghan Hudson, Adam Scanlon, Jordan Scanlon; one great grandchild, Alexis Brown and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Christine A. Hilton and Darlene M. Hilton, and the brother of the late Phyllis Bennett and Roy Hilton.
His Funeral will be held Friday, July 10th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
