Georgette Guerin Obituary
Gin was born on April 18, 1915 in Roubaix, France, the daughter of George and Helen (Baert) Vandeputte and came to the United States at the age of 10. The family settled in Rhode Island where her father established the Branch River Wool Combing Co. She is the widow of Joseph Aram Guerin and is predeceased by her oldest daughter Denise Oschger and siblings Elise Lamoureux, Amedee Vandeputte, and Jacqueline Lepoutre.
Gin was a lifelong volunteer. In Woonsocket, RI she started a CYO basketball program; coordinated volunteers for the Woonsocket Hospital Auxiliary; hosted functions for the Societe France-Amerique; and was an active member of Woonsocket Girl Scouts and the Mother's Club.
Joseph, Gin and family moved to Manchester, NH in 1962. Gin joined the NH School Volunteer Program and served as Administrative Assistant for over 20 years. After moving to Bedford, NH she joined the Elliot Hospital Associates where she volunteered for more than 20 years and also served on the Elliot Hospital Associates Finance Committee. She was a guide at the Amoskeag Fishways and was Treasurer for the St. Elizabeth Seton Women's Guild.
Family includes daughters, Louise Forseze and Alix Guerin, both of Manchester, NH; granddaughters, Jennifer Sklena and Alix Levine of the Chicago, IL area; four great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Lauren, Evan, and Elodie.
There are no calling hours. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 13th at 11 am in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH. Committal services will be held on Friday, December 14th at 11:30 am in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Slatersville, RI.
Donations may be made in her memory to Elliot Hospital Associates, One Elliot Way, Manchester, NH 03103. Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, is assisting with the arrangements.

I am sorry to hear of Gin' s passing. She was a special lady who I had the privilege of knowing through volunteering at Elliot Hospital and with the Elliot Hospital Associates. I send my deepest sympathies to Alex and Louise, her daughters. I will always remember fondly Pat and my interview with Gin a couple of years ago.
