Gertrude Rena Brissette

BURRILLVILLE - Gertrude Rena (Fontenault) Brissette, 86, passed away surrounded by her loving family Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Roland Brissette. Born in Manville, she was the daughter of the late Aldor and Cecile (Girard) Fontenault. She was a resident of Burrillville most of her life. Gert worked at Wrights Farm Restaurant for over twenty years, as well as the St. James Hotel and managed the North Smithfield Fly Fishing Club. She was a mender in various textile mills, but her most fulfilling role in life was caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was the beloved mother of Christine Wagner; Charlotte (Thatcher) Desautels and the late Carl Brissette. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, her siblings Frances Fullam; Aldor and Raymond Fontenault. She was the sister of the late Marcel and Roger Fontenault, Pauline Lapierre and Jeannette Richer. Gert will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Gert's final wishes were to be donated to the Medical Science Program at Brown University. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday April 11, 2015 at 11AM in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave., Pascoag. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 from 5 to 8PM in the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag.
