WOONSOCKET - Gloria M. Ryan, 83, peacefully passed away on September 1, 2025, at the St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield, RI. She was the wife of the late

David H.

Coon and

the late Vincent J. Ryan.

Born in Woonsocket, RI, on August 20, 1942, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Leo A. and Mary C. (Antosh) Poirier.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, including her two sons: Scott D. Coon and his wife, Renee, of Wells, Maine and Jason L. Coon of Wells, Maine, Gloria also lovingly embraced her blended family, which includes stepson Matthew Ryan and his wife, Kimberly, of Marietta, Georgia; stepdaughter Kathleen LeBlanc and her husband, Michael, of Houston, Texas; and the late Mark Ryan. Her family tree flourishes with grandchildren Lauren Coon and Chase Stanley, as well as step-grandchildren Maire, Daniel, Colleen, Kristy, Jessica Ryan, Jason, and Jennifer LeBlanc. She is also survived by her niece, Nancy Kloczkowski of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, and nephews John Good of Lincoln, RI, James Good of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Brian Poirier of Houston, Texas, and Bruce Poirier of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gloria was the sister of the late Leo D. Poirier and Philip A. Poirier.

Her professional journey was as diverse as her personality; she worked at Stop & Shop in the business office, owned and operated a family daycare, traveled extensively while work camping, served as a reservations manager at a resort motel, and brought warmth and hospitality as a hostess in a family restaurant. A pillar of her church community, Gloria was a beacon of light wherever she lived.

She devoted countless hours to volunteering, sharing her time and talents with those in need. Her compassion and caring nature knew no bounds, as she continually sought to uplift the less fortunate, often placing others needs before her own. Gloria had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went, and her vibrant spirit endeared her to everyone she encountered. Outgoing and sociable, she radiated positivity and warmth. Most importantly, her unwavering faith and profound love for God were evident in all she did.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at Saint Mary's Church, 77 Mendon Street, Uxbridge. Calling Hours will be held from 9:30-10:30 am at the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main Street, Uxbridge, with a Funeral Procession to follow to the church for a 11:00 am funeral mass.

Burial will be Private.
