Helen Berard Obituary
She was the wife of the late Ernest A. Berard, co-owner of Berard's Market in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Helen spent most of her life in Woonsocket until fifteen years ago when she made her summer home in Mendon her year round residence.
She leaves two daughters, Jeanne H. Demers and her husband, Rene of Woonsocket and Suzanne M. Lauzon and her husband, John of Mendon and Celebration, Florida, and son-in-law Craig S. C. Shaw of North Smithfield and Arizona. She also leaves six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Ernest, daughter Jacqueline Berard Shaw, granddaughter Monique Demers Dubois, two brothers Maurice and Joseph Masse, and sister Rita Aubuchon.
Helen was an avid and talented seamstress who was loved by all.
Funeral will be held on Monday, October 12th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Precious Blood Church, 94 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. At the request of Helen there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Brothers of the Sacred Heart Sandwich Ministry, 159 Earle Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895.

Bernard's market! What fond memories from my childhood! I lived on Cottage Street and walked into the market every day. The brothers were always so kind. I wanted to share a scripture that brings me much comfort-- Hosea 13:14. May it comfort you as well at this sad time.
