Helena A. "Nancy" Samek

WOONSOCKET - Helena "Nancy" (Eddy), Samek, 83, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2020. She was the wife of Joseph S. Samek Jr, of Cumberland. They were happily married for 58 years.

Nancy worked as a school teacher for the city of Woonsocket for 37 years, mostly at the former Social Street school, before retiring in 1995. She had graduated from Newton College, Boston in 1958.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Joe; and two sons and their spouses, Joseph S. and Lauren Samek, Stephen and Angela Samek She enjoyed traveling throughout New England and especially to Disney World with her grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Kaitlyn, Olivia and Landon.

Nancy had many nieces and nephews and enjoyed her time with her granddog, Summit.

Nancy is predeceased by her parents, Dr Augustine Eddy and Helena Eddy of North Smithfield; and siblings Augustine & Robert Eddy, Carol (Shunney), Ellen (Bibeault) and Susan (Letendre).

Nancy's family would like to thank Mt St Rita nursing home and Hope Hospice Care for the excellent care provided to her.
Due to Covid restrictions, services will be private. A celebration of her life will be held for family at a later date.
