James Bates Obituary
Born in Fall River, son of the late Francis and Agnes (Paul) Bates, he worked as an attendant at Shell gas station for several years prior to retiring.
Besides his beloved wife Dolores, he is survived by his four daughters, Catherine Flynn, Dawn Bates, Theresa Bates and Randi Bates, all of Woonsocket. James was also survived by his siblings, Martin Bates, Alan Bates, Sandra Krupski and Cynthia Gill, all of Woonsocket; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Laurie Priest and Donna Bates, and grandfather to the late John Priest Jr. and brother of the late Nelson and Garrison Bates.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, at 10 a.m. in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm Street, Blackstone. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Tuesday, May 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd, Unit 1, East Providence, RI 02914, would be appreciated.
