James J. Bouchard

WOONSOCKET - James J. Bouchard, 84, died Thursday October 12, 2017 at The Holiday in Manville. Born in Burlington, Vermont he was a son of the late Paul and Regina (Paulhus) Bouchard. He was raised in Woonsocket and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School Class of 1951. He also attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California.
Mr. Bouchard served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Bouchard spent his career in law enforcement, security and investigations. His experience included serving as a patrolman in Danielson, CT, as a detective in the Sheriff's Dept. in Santa Barbara, CA, Special Agent for Naval Investigative Service in Los Angles, CA, and Senior Industrial Security Investigator for General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton, CT.
James was a member of the 102nd Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron Association, a life member of Cercle Laurier and Post 85 American Legion.
He was a skilled cribbage player and also enjoyed bingo (especially with his sister Lorraine, sibling rivalry notwithstanding) and genealogy. He liked to travel to the Virginia area to spend time with his daughter and was a stanch Red Sox and Patriots fan.
James will be remembered as a loving and devoted father and friend to many people.
He is survived by a daughter Michelle I. Bouchard of Paeonian Springs, VA and his former wife and friend Pearl A. Nadeau of Woonsocket. He was the brother of the late Paul Bouchard and Lorraine Hebert and is also survived by his nieces and nephews and their families.
His funeral service will be Sunday at 4:00 pm in the Menard - Lacouture Funeral Home 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket with visiting hours from 2-4 pm prior to the service.
Burial with military honors will be Monday at 11:00 am in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery on South County Trail in Exeter with the procession leaving the funeral home for the cemetery at 10:00am.
