James Murphy Obituary

GLOCESTER - James T. Murphy, 57, resident of Chepachet, passed away, surrounded by love, in his home on July 16, 2015. He was the son of the late John and Mary "Hope" (Boyle) Murphy. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Judy (McCombs) Murphy, father of Kristen Saulnier of Medfield, MA, Jim Clift of Chepachet and Sarah Clift and Brandon Clift both of Mapleville. He was the brother of John Murphy of Pomfret, CT; Mary Murphy of Woonsocket; Carol Murphy of Pascoag; Joe Murphy of Lincoln and Jay Murphy of Mapleville. Jim leaves behind a large family and many friends. He was the special friend and neighbor of Don and Robin Heim.
Over the last decade, Jim enjoyed each day of his life, due to the selfless gift of organ donation as the recipient of a double lung transplant in October 2004. He was a founding member of the Rhode Island Lung Club, where he was known as the "legend". Jim was an employee of Blackstone Valley Electric and National Grid. He enjoyed mowing fields with his farm tractor, camping with family and friends, cruising Wakefield Pond on his pontoon boat and Nascar Racing. Most importantly of all, Jim loved his family and close friends.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 8:30AM from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30AM in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave. Pascoag. Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help fellow Rhode Island Lung Club member Joe Duffy offset the cost of his medical bills. Your donation can be mailed to: Mr. Joe Duffy, 19 Metcalf Marsh Drive, North Smithfield, RI 02896. Please give the gift of life and consider being an organ donor. www.boucherfh.com

ts hard to believe 5 years has passed since you left us . We all miss you so much , its so weird when you have to go on with your life without the person youve been with since birth . Mom always said you called me my manny life just goes by way too fast . You passed away away at 57 in July right before your birthday , I turned 57 that year in December, if that doesnt say how close in age we were ! I love you always Jimmy , you were a great brother , I wish we could have spent more time together . Prayers are with you !!
