James Theodore Sylvester

1959 - 2015

RUMFORD - James Theodore Sylvester, 56, of West Drive in Rumford, Rhode Island, passed away at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket, RI on Friday, July 10, 2015. He was the beloved husband for more than thirty years of Linda M. Hurd.
Born in Pawtucket, RI on April 17, 1959, he was a son of the late Theodore W. Sylvester and Shirley (Vose) Sylvester of Central Falls, Rhode Island. He was employed for the previous thirteen years as a Technician for Cadence Science in Cranston, RI.
A graduate of Pawtucket High School, he lived for many years in Rumford, and loved spending time with family, his flower garden, the pleasure of watching car racing, his Puggle dog, "Zoe", and in quiet times spent fishing.
In addition to his wife and mother, James leaves a sister, Judy Machado of Cumberland, RI, a brother, Jay Sylvester of South Attleboro, MA, and a sister Joanne Hornsby of Woonsocket, RI, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his wife's daughter, Ann Hurd and her companion, Andres Zapata, both of North Attleboro, their son, Brendan J. Hurd; and his wife's son, Richard E. Hurd and his wife, Lisa M. Hurd, of Plainville, MA.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
Funeral Service and burial will be private.
