Janet Inger Obituary

Janet D. Inger

WOONSOCKET - Janet D. Inger, 69, passed away on Monday, February 5. She is survived by her husband, John (Jack) Inger.

Janet was born on June 25, 1954, the youngest of five children of the late Joseph and Diane (Therrien) Tetreault. She was raised in Blackstone and attended local schools. Janet had many jobs during her life.

As a young girl, she worked as an aid at St. Antoine's Nursing Home. She also operated her own dog grooming salon in Blackstone. Janet was the Animal Control Officer for the Town of Blackstone and personally raised money to establish and build the first Blackstone Animal Shelter. She worked diligently at the shelter for many years. Her love and compassion were felt by each animal she tended to.

Janet had a large circle of friends, some of whom she shared morning coffee and stories with at Betty's in Blackstone. She had a story for everyone and was a great listener. She will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate to have known her.

Janet is survived by her sister, Ann and spouse Richard Christiansen of Millville, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was Auntie Nanette to all. She also leaves her loving companion, her pet cat Emmet, whom she adored. She was predeceased by her brothers, Roger Tetreault and Eugene Tetreault and her sister Connie Remillard.

Janet dedicated her body to anatomical study at Brown University. A memorial service will be set in the future.

Memorial gifts in her name can be made to your favorite animal charity.

Yesterday

Jack,
I checked the weather today and saw you may get a nor'easter. I thought about Janet and tried to find her on Facebook. I am so sorry to hear this. I see her cousin listed in a memory and remember them not agreeing. I also see that at that time, Emmett was still living. My heart and prayers go out to you. I remember you guys. Stay well and God bless you.

Janet. What can I say? She was truly a special person. A very special friend. I am grateful that she did not suffer as some of my other friends have. As much as I will miss her, and I will, my heart goes out to Jack
and Emmett who I know will miss her even more than I. Love you Janet! Rest in peace.

I miss you already Janet. It was always special when you would come over for coffee and share about your experiences with Linda and I. So many times the doorbell would ring and there you were with a pile of food you made too much of and always it was first class. I loved going to Chan's with you and Jack and had many memorable moments that we still laugh about to this day. so many times you invited Linda and I over for drinks and laughs, or dinners. and just last month you bailed me out of a dead battery situation with your battery jump pack when I was stuck at Lin's dentist. so many laughs and stories. I am a better person having had you and Jack in my life. Rest in Peace dear Janet.
