EAST PROVIDENCE - Joan E. Barnabe, 85, of East Providence, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 23rd, 2024. Born in Pawtucket, RI she was the beloved daughter of the late Norman E. and Florence A. (Jordan) Jencks.

Joan is survived by her loving children, David E. Harrison and his partner Stacy Brothers of Titusville, FL, Edward Harrison of Pawtucket, RI, Karen Elgar and her partner Will Cunningham of Warwick, RI, Jo-Ann Briere of Port St. Lucie, FL, Rebecca Dyer and her fianc Jim Scaff of Middletown, RI, William and Cassie Harrison of Vernon Hills, IL. She is also survived by her twenty beloved grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and some very close friends. She is predeceased by her son Joseph Harrison of Pawtucket, RI.

Joan was a long-time employee of Fuller Packaging and later became a full-time Nanny before her retirement. She was a lifetime Yankees fan and loved converting others. Joan enjoyed quilt making and sharing her gifts with family and loved ones. Vacationing in Maine was one of her favorite pastimes. Joan loved a house full of family and friends and was the Neighborhood Mom. Her home was always open, welcoming and filled with laughter and love. She was a treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

Her funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI. Visiting hours will be held from 1:00 to 4:00pm prior to the Service in the funeral home.
