John Brand Obituary
John came into this world at a time when very little was known or understood about autism. The challenges he and his family faced as a result were seemingly insurmountable. His mother, Carolyn, was his fiercest protector and advocate, always striving to provide the best care she could and a place for him in this world where he could thrive and live independently. Despite his mental health challenges, which became more profound as he grew into adulthood, he persevered. He was a gentle soul who was always kind and courteous to anyone he met. He was also an extremely talented illustrator and was fascinated by jets, planes, and constellations.
He leaves his sister, Melissa Snyder; his nephew and niece, Noah and Maeve Snyder; and many cousins.
His funeral will be held July 6, 2023, beginning with visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church, 1409 Park Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Autism Science Foundation, 3 Continental Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
