John J. Kozak

1923 - 2017

MEDWAY - John J. Kozak, 93 of Franklin, formerly of Bellingham and Medway, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Lou (Dunn) Kozak.
Born on November 24, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Nick and Laura Kozak. Mr.
Kozak grew up in Bellingham and was a graduate of Bellingham High School. After high school John proudly served in the Navy during WWII. After his discharge from the Navy, John attended Burdett College and graduated with an Associate's Degree in Accounting. John started working at Varney
Brothers Concrete in Bellingham and spent his entire career there. Mr. Kozak was a volunteer Firefighter for the Town of Bellingham and was also on the Bellingham Housing Authority. In his spare time John loved watching all the New England sports teams and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Mr. Kozak is survived by his daughter Paula Kozak and her wife Anne Masse of Hancock, NH; his grandchildren Jason Weed and his wife Jessica of Woonsocket, Adam Weed and his wife Wendy of Georgia, Katrina Manoloulis of Hancock, NH and Christyanna and her husband Mike Umenhofer of Goffstown, NH. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Nathan Weed, Peace Weed, and Samantha Weed and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Linda (Kozak) Weed, and was predeceased by his son-in-law Richard. He was the brother of the late Joseph Kozak, Stella Callahan, and Julie Glockner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home,(www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway on Tuesday, July 18 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Brendan's Church, 384 Hartford Ave, Bellingham. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
