George T. Anderson

George Thomas Anderson age 88 died Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Beth Israel Hospital Needham.

Born and raised in Plymouth, MA, he was a long time Millis resident. He was pre-deceased by his wife Jackie after 64 years of marriage. He was a loving parent to his daughter, Lauren (Anderson) Forbes of Medway and his son, Scott Anderson of Carver. He was the proud grandfather to his five grandchildren Weston Forbes (Flora), Cameron Forbes (Chiara LeSiege), Garrett Forbes (Jessica Page), Matthew Anderson (Brandi) and Meghan Anderson (Derek Tebeau). He is survived by his brother Frank Anderson and his wife Sally, brother in-law Mark Weston and brother-in-law Gary Weston and his wife Cheryl. He is pre-deceased by his sister Roberta Anderson and sisters-in-law Nancy Weston and Patricia Weston.

George retired from Bellingham High School in 1998 after 33 years, most of which was as the Director of Athletics. He arrived in 1965 and resurrected the football program and served as the Football Coach through 1969 and spent many years attending many of the school teams sporting events. The Athletic field was named in his honor and he was inducted into the Bellingham High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019. George enjoyed his time with his friends and family but the last two years he missed the love of his life Jackie. They were married on September 7, 1958 and we are blessed that he is reunited with her before their anniversary.

The family will hold visiting hours on Thursday September 11, 2025 from 4-7pm at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 90 Curve Street, Millis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday September 12 at 10AM at St. Jude’s, 86 Main Street, Norfolk followed by a 3PM burial at the Union Cemetery, 29 South Main Street, Carver.
