ORLANDO - John Bruno Kurowski, 45 of Orlando, Florida passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. John was born in Manville, Rhode Island, August 4, 1973, the son of Bruno John Kurowski and Nancy Ruth Kelley Kurowski and moved to Kissimmee in 2008 from Manville, Rhode Island. John was a graduate of Rhode Island College and pursued a career as a retail sales manager. His passion was for Disney and world travel. He founded the Rhode Island Chapter of the Disneyana Fan Club and was a charter member of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. His vast knowledge propelled him to become the Disney Store National Trivia Competition Champion in 1996 and D23's Ultimate Disney Trivia Tournament Champion in 2011. As a Catholic growing up, John was the past president of the C.Y.O. (Catholic Youth Organization) in Rhode Island and a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House.
John is survived by his loving parents: Nancy and Bruno John Kurowski of Kissimmee, Florida; husband and partner: Mark Allen Moore of Orlando, Florida; uncle: George L. Kelley and his wife Maria of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; cousins: Patrick Kelley and his wife Sue and children Jake and Abby of East Providence, Rhode Island, Jennifer Hopp and her husband Michael and their children Olivia and Mason of North Providence, Rhode Island. John was preceded in death by his dear sister Catherine (Catie) Kurowski in 1988.
The family of John Bruno Kurowski will receive friends on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home. A Service to Celebrate John's life will be at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday following the visitation in the Roger C. Thompson Memorial Chapel at Conrad & Thompson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida at 1020 Orlando Ave #100, Maitland, FL 32751 and to the Catherine (Catie) Kurowski Collection at the Lincoln Public Library, 145 Old River Road, Lincoln, RI 02865.
