John Larson Obituary
He was the loving husband of 35 years to Mary Jane (Bowen) Larson. He was born in Providence, son of the late Victor and Margaret (Cahill) Larson.
John was an industrial instructor for the Mass. Correctional Department. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. John was also a member and past president of the Sayles Hill Rod & Gun Club, past president of the Junior Hockey League and Senior Basketball League, both in Burrillville. He also served on the town's Conservation Commission and the Planning Board and he served 27 years helping to fulfill Children's Wishes.
Beside his wife, he is survived by his children, Casey Larson of Pascoag; Inga Gregory and her husband, Patrick, of Falmouth, Mass.; and his sisters, Karen Frasca and her husband, Tony; and Jean Gardner and her husband, Jim, all of Florida.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church in Pascoag. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Wishes of RI, 2346 Post Road, Suite 102, Warwick, RI 02886.

I felt blessed having had the pleasure of meeting and working with John throughout my five short years at Concord Farm. John enjoyed his job as the Carpentry Industrial Instructor, as evidenced by his handiwork, almost as much as he enjoyed briefly participating in the Habitat for Humanity program. His craft was enjoyed by many; to include the community, the institution and the many inmates that thoroughly enjoyed his instructional expertise.
On a personal level, I will truly miss John's smile and his countless stories.... I will always remember John as being a 'classy gentleman', because he always treated the people around him with respect. Even when we knew he was ill, John still made it a point to show up to work and 'Carry On', never losing his smile.
Thank you John, for accepting my friendship at work and teaching me how to live life, and leave it, with dignity. May you Rest In Peace until Christ returns to lift you up in His arms and take you home.

Mary Jane,
I was so saddened to learn of John's passing. He was a wonderful, kind and compassionate man who always thought of others. I remember him fondly during my days at Bryant University and later thru Children's Wishes. I'm glad I was able to be at the game dinner in April where John was honored. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to you and the children.

To my good friend John. It saddens me that you are gone but you certainly fought the good fight and may you now rest, for you have earned it. You were always in my corner and picked me up and helped me carry on through many hard times. Thank you for supporting me when others did not. You were truly my friend and I love you and will miss you.

Dear Mary Jane and family, I am so sad to hear of John's passing. I will always remember many good times at BMR and John's sense of fun. He made the place much easier to tolerate. I'll remember all of you in my prayers.
