John F. "Jack" Martin

HARRISVILLE - John F. ("Jack") Martin, 62, passed away June 30 surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness.
Born in Providence, the son of Norman C. Martin and the late Dorothy F. (McGill) Martin he was raised in Cumberland and had lived in Harrisville, RI for the last 32 years.
He was a former Marine and worked as Manufacturing Manager at Greystone in Lincoln, RI for many years before retiring due to illness.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane (Pontbriant) Martin and his children, Erik Martin and his wife Missie of Moosup, CT, Sean Martin and his wife Naomi of Leeds, England and Jeremy Martin and his partner Melinda Conway of Harrisville, RI. He is also survived by his grandchildren Madaline, Ian, Riley, Niamh, Troy and Emily and many nieces and nephews.
John was the brother of Debra Martin of Franklin, MA and Bruce Martin of North Yarmouth, ME. He was predeceased by his sister Linda Martin. An avid antiques collector and dealer, John enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with his family. He coached in the Burrillville Youth Basketball Association for many years.
Visiting hours will be Friday, July 3 from 4-7 pm at J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI. A memorial service will be held at a later time.
