John Ogden Obituary

CENTRAL FALLS - John R. Ogden, 76, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Henry N. and Lena (Aspinall) Ogden.

John was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era, serving from 1962-1967. He went on to graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration from Johnson and Wales University, where he was a member of the Silver Key Honorary Society, the Rotorac Club, and the Veterans Club, and was also named to the Dean's List. He worked in the lighting supply industry for many years and subsequently at Rodman Ford in Foxboro until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge and loved fishing and clamming, playing pool, bringing "the usual" for the Patriots game each Sunday, and an occasional beer with good friends and family.

John leaves a sister, Alice Whitman, seven nephews and two nieces. He was the brother of the late William Ogden, Harry Ogden and Beverly Lefebvre, and longtime partner of the late Sharon Tyler. He is also survived by Ms. Tyler's sons Jay (Jen) Voas, Todd Voas, and Gregg Tyler, and her grandsons, Brandon, Cameron and Riley Voas, as well as close friends, Amy Berghman and Mike Borowick.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Committal Services with Military Honors on Friday, June 4th at 2 p.m. at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 S. County Trl., Exeter. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Memorial gifts to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 in honor of John's military service would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to William W. Tripp Funeral Home, Pawtucket.

Always enjoyed speaking with you about our family history, even though we did not see each other often, Letting me use the big Bible to use from grandma's house for the Ancestry meant a lot to me. Rest in peace.
