John J. Survelas Jr.

1960 - 2017

WOONSOCKET - John J. Survelas, Jr., 57, of Woonsocket, RI, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Dianne J. (Arseneau) Survelas for 33 years.
Born in Arlington, MA on March 26, 1960, he was the son of John J. and J. Elaine (Jones) Survelas of Arlington, MA. He was the loving father of Jessica J. Survelas, Esq. of Dover, NH and Thomas J. Survelas of West Palm Beach, FL. He was the brother of Candace Leria of Arlington, MA. He was the son-in-law of the Jean (Dumas) Arseneau of Hopkinton, MA and the late Frank Arseneau. He leaves behind his nieces Nicole (Leria) Perry, Nicole Arseneau, Ashley Arseneau, and Janelle Hart, and his nephews Justin Dagnese and Jonathan Dagnese. He also leaves his cherished cats, Shadow and Lulu.
John was formerly a resident of Bellingham, MA and Arlington, MA. He was a graduate of the Arlington High School Class of 1978. He continued his education at North Adams State College. John was a warehouse manager at New England Home Therapies in Southborough for over 15 years.
John was an active member of the Millerville Men's Club. He was a former President of the Bellingham Youth Basketball League for many years, and the former Assistant Varsity Coach of the Bellingham High School Boys Basketball team. He was a devoted sports fan of all the New England Teams.
John loved spending time at his family's summer home in South Chatham, NH on Lower Kimball Pond. He had a vivacious personality and was always smiling. He was devoted to his family and friends. John will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 18th at 7:00PM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting hours are from 4PM to 7PM, prior to service. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in John's name.
