John J. "Tomo" Tomassini

WARWICK - John J "Tomo" Tomassini 69, died Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Hebert Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of Cheryl Ann (Menard) Tomassini for forty years. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Addio and Maria (Vario) Tomassini.
John was the manager of Tomassini Motor Sales in Woonsocket for twenty-five years. He was an accomplished musician playing the sax, harmonica and flute, and a member of the band Tommil in the 1960's, Metamorphus in the 1970's, and The Formula in the 1980's. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed quahogging, clamming, boating and fishing. He also spent time brewing beer, painting, and cooking. John was known and loved for his sarcastic wit, and generous spirit. You could hear his laughter from a mile away. He will be sadly missed by many. Until we meet again may God hold him in the palms of his hands.
Besides his wife he leaves two brothers, Perry Tomassini of Woonsocket,, Joal Tomassini of North Port, FL, two sisters Donna Lariviere, and Lori Tomassini both of Cumberland, brother-in-law Robert Menard of Palm Bay, FL, best friend Rene Young of Smithfield, good friend and band member Michael Larko, several nieces and nephews, and his cherished Yorkies, Gizzy Lu and Josephine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation Friday, June 1, 2018, at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, from 5-7 PM.
