Joseph Jackson Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Joseph C. Jackson, 90, a retired accountant, passed away at home on Friday, Oct. 16, 2015. He was the beloved husband of the late Therese M. (Belgarde) Jackson.

A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Lucy (Dawson) Jackson. Joe served as an Aviation Cadet in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a 1948 Honor Graduate of Bryant College and attended the University of Pittsburgh.

Joe was associated with Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Company for 31 years until retiring in 1986 as corporate accounting manager, and also operated Allied Accounting and Tax Service for 49years. He was a member of American Legion Armistice Post No. 45, where he served as the finance officer for over 58 years. Joe was a communicant of the Church of St. Leo the Great and a member of its Spirited Seniors, where he served as treasurer for over 20 years, and had also been a coach and league treasurer for the Darlington National Little League.

He leaves two sons, Richard J. Jackson, and his wife, Ann, of Mauldin, S.C., and Joseph C. Jackson Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of North Attleboro; three daughters, Janice P. Ferschke, and her husband, Richard, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Maureen T. Stinchfield, and her husband, Brian, of Manchester, N.H., and Sharon A. Bolton, of Pawtucket; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lewis, Edward, Charles, Henry and Leo Jackson, Frances Forcier, Helen Nyberg and Gertrude Richter.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Saint John Paul II Parish, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02861 would be appreciated.
