Joseph Metfooney Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Joseph J. Metfooney (Madfounian), 84, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 with his wife and daughter by his side. He was the husband of Catherine (McCormick) Metfooney. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late John and Haple Metfooney. Joseph was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He then worked for AT Cross as a polisher for 25 years retiring in 2002.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Metfooney, a sister, Helen Lacy and her husband Wayne Lacy of North Providence, and a sister-in-law. Elizabeth Taylor of Lincoln. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George Metfooney, Marie Remy, and Margaret Paradise.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10am from the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saint Edwards Church, 396 Weeden Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4-7pm in the funeral home. www.oneillfuneralhomes.com
