Joseph leaves one loving daughter, Joanne R. Riley and her husband, Michael, and his beloved grandson, Justin A. Riley. He also is survived by a sister, Christina Peterson of Yuma, Arizona. He was predeceased by his brothers, Hubert, Arthur and Gilbert Roy and his sister, Marie Cleary.

Dear Joanne: I was very saddened to hear of my dear friend's passing. I knew your Dad & Mother going back to the late forties. I remember launching tee shots at your grandfather's plane when I worked at the driving range. Those days still are in my fondest memories. Your Dad and I were junior members at Pawtucket Country Club in the late forties. He never changed. He was one of the most unforgettable persons I ever met. I will miss him. Love Norm Lutz

I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was one colorful character,fun guy.Joe was one of the goods guys.He was always very good to me. Remember the happy memories and we can smile.I also recently heard of your Mom's passing also,so sorry to hear that. June was the best. Very patient lady. May they both rest in peace.

I'm so sorry for the loss of the "Chief". He was a great great friend of my Dad's and his passing is a terrible loss for our family as well. Needless to say we will miss all his jokes. We have so many great memories of him. Pawtucket C.C. will never be the same or as much fun. May he RIP. Take care,

Mrs. Riley and Family,
I am very saddened to hear of the passing of "The Chief". I can attest that I and my two brothers greatly admired and respected him. Even before going onto "the job", we all caddied for him at PCC. He was tougher on us as a caddy than as a Chief on the department. He protected me several times when I was a patrolman, always giving advise to help me in the future - just to stay out of his corner office. Your father remains a legend both at the Pawtucket Country Club and The Pawtucket Police Department. A life well lived.
