June Bains Obituary
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Ella (Lancor) Salway. She resided in Cumberland for the past 54 years, previously residing in East Providence.
She was an elevator operator for Rhode Island Hospital Trust, where she met her husband. She was also employed seasonally as a sales associate for Ann & Hope for many years.
She was a proud and dedicated mother & grandmother. She loved animals, to sew, and enjoyed collecting Native American artwork and crafts.
Besides her beloved husband she leaves her children, Frederick C. Bains III of Hudson, MA, Paula A. Bains-Vallee and her husband Edward A Vallee of Richmond, RI, Noreen B. Abbott and her husband Charles Abbott of Middletown, CT; two grandchildren, William F. Bains and Kyle B. Abbott; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gloria Brackett and Bernard Salway.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday with Visiting Hours from 2-4 PM with a Prayer Service at 4 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Flower Dogs Sanctuary, PO BOX 204, Saunderstown, RI 02874.
