NASONVILLE - Kevin J. Mitchell 38, formerly of Nasonville, died May 30, 2015 at AnMed Health and Medical Center in Anderson, SC where he had been living for over a year. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of Elizabeth (Hebert) Hatzell of Nasonville, and the late Kenneth J. Mitchell.
Kevin was a customer service manager for EyeFit in Bel Air, Maryland. Locally he had worked as an optical technician for Dr. Pam Sheffield, and a customer service representative for several area Financial Institutes. Kevin was a volunteer fireman for the Nasonville Fire Department, he was a Level 1 Firefighter and a Basic EMT. He also served as President of the Nasonville Fire Company.
Besides his mother he is survived by a brother, Brendon Mitchell of Pascoag, a sister Kirstin Hatzell of Harrisville, his partner Joseph Gasco of SC, maternal grandfather Conrad Hebert of Harrisville, and his aunt Pamela Provost of Richmond.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa's Church, Dion Dr. Nasonville. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket. Visiting hours are Sunday 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Donate Life America, 701 E Byrd St. 16th Floor, Richmond, VA 23219 in his memory would be appreciated. WE WERE SADDENED TO LEARN OF THE PASSING OF KEVIN MITCHELL. HE HAD A TOUGH LIFE MEDICALLY, ENDURED TRANSPLANTS, BUT ALWAYS HAD A DEEP CONCERN FOR HIS FAMILY, HIS COMMUNITY, AND HIS FRIENDS.

I was saddened to learn of Kevin's passing and wish to extend my deepest sympathy to his family and friends on their loss. I was a high school secretary when Kevin was a student at Burrillville High and I remember him fondly as the voice of our morning announcements each day which he performed with great pizzazz. He was articulate with a great personality. May God rest Kevin's soul.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to Kevin's family and friends. My heart was full of sorrow at such tragic news. As his Burrilville High School nurse I got to know him very well and he was a young man that I never forgot. He was loving and caring to everyone that he met and a natural leader. He will always have a special place in our hearts.
