Lois Shaw

WOONSOCKET - Lois (Wade) Shaw, 85, of Rhodes Ave. and formerly of Great Rd., North Smithfield, died February 4, 2015 in the Friendly Home, Woonsocket. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Strickland) Wade.
She worked for twenty five years for Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. Her career began in the nursery, then changed to charge nurse for the first floor before retiring as nursing supervisor in 1993. She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School class of 1945 and a graduate from the Worcester City School of Nursing in 1950.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Shaw and his wife Kathy of North Smithfield, Richard Shaw and his wife Patricia of Pascoag, and Bruce Shaw and his wife Kim of North Smithfield; her daughter, Deborah Shaw of West Warwick as well as her daughter in law, Lynn Shaw of CA; two brothers, John Wade of Myrtle Beach, SC and William Wade and his partner Tom Portagalla of Cape Coral, FL; her brother-in-law Ron Wood of AL; her sister-in-law Pat Wade of Virginia Beach, VA; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son James Shaw, her brother David Wade and twin sister Louise Wood.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 5-8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
