Lora C. Schroder

NORTH KINGSTOWN - Schroder, Lora C. (Shwaery), 84, of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully. She was the beloved wife of Walter K. Schroder for forty-five years.
Born in Pawtucket, one of seven children, she was a daughter of the late Esper A. and Ida (Thomas) Shwaery.
She attended Pawtucket East High School. She was subsequently employed by the Visiting Nurses Association in Pawtucket and as a nursing assistant for a cardiologist.
Following the birth of her daughter in 1973, she performed secretarial services in a doctor's office for a number of years.
Lora enjoyed serving her community as a volunteer at many organizations. She volunteered at Blackstone Valley Heart Association and Seniors Helping Others, where she served with RIARC. In addition, she volunteered at the South County Museum. A watercolor artist and receptionist for over twenty years at the Wickford Art Association, Lora was recognized as a Juried Artist Member and honorary lifetime member.
Lora was a member of the Community Chorus and Central Baptist Church Choir, both in Jamestown.
She leaves her daughter, Leah (Schroder) Fox and her husband Martin of NJ; her cherished granddaughter, Emmy Hope Fox; two brothers, Frederick Shwaery and his wife Adele of Pawtucket and David Shwaery of Little Compton; a sister, Georgette Fitzpatrick and her husband Francis of South Attleboro, MA; and many nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Walter K. Schroder, and sister of Josephine M. (Shwaery) Yaghoobian, George, Kenneth and Michael Thomas Shwaery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:30am in Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown.
