Loretta J. "Lolly" Nelson

1934 - 2015

BELLINGHAM - Loretta J. "Lolly" (Leach) Nelson, 81, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2015 at Norwood Hospital with her son Bill by her side. She is the beloved wife of the late William D. Nelson and the loving mother of William D. Nelson, Jr. of Bellingham and the late Timothy P. Nelson of Charlotte, NC who passed away on December 19, 2015 in his sleep at the family home while here for the holidays. Born in Framingham, MA on January 4, 1934, she is the daughter of the late John and Laurentine (Sikovich) Leach. She is the sister of Rita Fleming of Worcester, MA, and the late John, Robert, and Charles Leach, Marion Shepard, and Barbara Chalmers. She also leaves her nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nelson was a resident of Bellingham since 1963, formerly of Framingham where she was raised and was a graduate of Framingham High School. She worked as a social worker for the Department of Social Services until retiring and previously had worked at the Framingham Trust and Natick Trust Banks in her earlier years. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.
Funerals for Mrs. Nelson and her son Tim will be held together on Wednesday, December 30th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at Scott Cemetery, Center St., Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, December 29th from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home.
