Marcel L. Bernier

1932 - 2020

BLACKSTONE - Marcel L. Bernier, 88, of Blackstone, MA passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at The Holiday Retirement Home, Manville, RI. He is the beloved husband of the late Luce G. (Lanoue) Bernier. Born in Blackstone, MA on September 21, 1932, the son of the late Phillip and Olea (Lemay) Bernier. He is the step-father of Ronald Armstrong and his wife, Emilie of Uxbridge, MA and Linda Theroux and her husband, Robert of Peoria, AZ. He leaves his grandchildren, Audra Metivier and her husband Josh of Surprise, AZ, Kayla Armstrong of Blackstone, MA, Jonathan Armstrong of Uxbridge, MA and 4 great-grandchildren, Riley, Abigail, Charlotte, and Madison. He is the brother of the late Gerard L. Bernier and Georgette S. Vallee.

Marcel was a lifelong resident of Blackstone. He worked at JS Prunier Company in Worcester as a metal lather for many years until retiring.

Marcel was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Blackstone and a member of the Woonsocket Elks Lodge #850. He was a coin collector and investor. Marcel was part owner of the Matunuck Beach Trailer Association and they enjoyed their summers at Matunuck and his clam bakes. Marcel loved his canine companions. Marcel will be greatly missed.
