Marcella Leduc Langlais

WESTERLY - Marcella Leduc Langlais, 79, of Westerly, RI, passed away at home surrounded by the love of her family on November 10. She was the wife of Roger T. Langlais; they would have celebrated their 61st anniversary this year. Born in Woonsocket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Alfred Leduc and Theresa Payeur Leduc Bouliane.

Marcie held several jobs in the Woonsocket area over the years: Narragansett Knitting, George Resnevic Dentistry, Edward Yazbak & Co., and CVS. However, loving her family was her joy, and caregiving her career. She took care of her husband and children; her mother for over 20 years; and her son-in-law's mother for several years. Giving her all was never enough: shed give you the shirt off her back, but she'd wash and iron it first, and bake some muffins, all the while asking What else can I do to help? Her favorite activities were holding hands with Roger, playing with her grandson, Patrick, and praying for us all.

She leaves her husband Roger; her children Kristina Langlais Wood and Amy Langlais Smith (Scott Smith, her favorite son-in-law); her grandson Patrick Smith; her brother Dennis Leduc; her sisters Vivian Etherson and Diane Crowell; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved step-father, Joseph Bouliane.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 18 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St. Westerly, RI 02891. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held afterward at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly, R.I. Burial will be private.
