Marilyn Moran Obituary

Marilyn Esther (Wood) Moran, 90, died peacefully Saturday, August 13, 2016 after a long illness at the Millbury Health Center in Millbury Massachusetts surrounded by family.
After marrying John (Bunny) Moran in November 1948, Marilyn lived most of her life in Hopedale. She was a devoted wife to John and mother to her four sons. One important fact that her children wish to share and will always remember her by as a fantastic Jitter Bug dancer and in her childhood, Mom was an outstanding figure skater.
Marilyn began her work career at Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Framingham MA before taking a break to raise the four children. Once children rearing was mostly over, Marilyn resumed her career starting work at the Milford Water Company for several years before moving over to the Massachusetts Unemployment Office in Milford, MA and finally finishing her career at Data General in Westborough, MA. Marilyn worked at Data General for over 20 years prior to retiring.
Marilyn was born on May 17, 1926 in Westfield Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Smith Otis Wood and Anna L. (Rushford) Wood.
Marilyn is predeceased by her husband of 56 years John Leo Moran Jr and is predeceased by her brother Franklyn S. Wood and his wife and Marilyn's sister-in-Law Shirley A. (Boodle) Wood.
Marilyn is also predeceased by a son Gary Lawrence Moran and granddaughter Melissa Lynn Moran.
Marilyn is survived by her sons John L. Moran III and his wife Margaret of Millville, MA, Dana F. Moran and his wife Lori of Houston, TX, and Shawn M. Moran and his wife Carolyn of North Massapequa, NY.
Marilyn is also survived by her dear brother-in-law Lawrence Moran of Jacksonville, Florida, Marilyn's three nieces Brenda Binns of Florida, Marilyn Schaier of Florida and Natalie Wood of Florida.
Finally Marilyn is survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00 am in the James E. Kellett Funeral Home, 21 West St., Milford, MA. Calling hours will be Friday from 10:00am-11:00am.
