Michael J. Dewing

WOONSOCKET - Michael J. Dewing, 63, of Smithfield and formerly of Woonsocket, died October 6, 2016 at Hebert Nursing Home, Smithfield. He was the husband of Julie A. (Perry) Dewing for thirty-nine years. Born in Worcester, MA, he was the son of the late Charles and Cecelia (Grant) Dewing.
Michael worked thirty-five years as a machine operator for Brien Construction. He was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to Larry Poitras on WNRI talk radio, and spending time with his grandson.
Besides his wife Julie, he is survived by their two daughters, Michelle Dewing and her partner Christopher Moran, and Jennifer Dewing all of Woonsocket; his brother, David Dewing and his wife Marianne of Reading, MA; two sisters, Mary-Ellen Hunt, and Susan Dirado and her husband Antiago all of Franklin, MA; his grandson, Tyler Dewing - Manning, as well as several nieces and nephews.
His services will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 beginning with visitation at 4 PM followed by a service at 7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
