Mildred "Flee" Scurry

WOONSOCKET - Mildred (Wilson) "Flee" Scurry, 87, of Bailey St. died Monday, October 30, 2017 in Landmark Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Harmon Scurry.
Born in Newberry, South Carolina, daughter of the late Edward and Lucretia Wilson.
Mildred worked as an inspector for AT Cross prior to retiring.
She was a member of St. James Baptist Church serving in the ministry and was one of the first ushers of the church. She also was a former member of the Friendly Essence Club. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
She was a graduate of Arthur Angelo's School of Hair Design.
She is survived by her four children, Glenda Valentine and her husband Garfield of Oxnard, CA, Willie F. Wilson and his wife Mary of Newberry, SC, Gail M. Johnson and her husband Shawn of Woonsocket and Derrick and Maria Scurry of Woonsocket. One sister, Euzell Stepney of Woonsocket and 4 sisters in law, Ulersee Allen, Dora Wilson both of Woonsocket and Annie Smith of Norristown, PA, and Annie Mae Wilson of Philadelphia, PA. 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She also was the sister of the late Cleo, Bertha, Virginia, Minnie, Walter, James, Ruben, Pervis, Johnnie Mack, RD, Postell, Edward and Columbus.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov 4, 2017 at 11 AM in St. James Baptist Church 340 South Main St., Woonsocket RI . Burial will be in Union Cemetery Great Rd. North Smithfield, RI. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours will be on Friday, Nov 3, 2017 from 4-7 PM in the S.DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
