Minnie L. Dandy

PROVIDENCE - Minnie L. (Wilson) Dandy 89, of Sumter St. formerly of Woonsocket, died Monday, December 19, 2016 in Miriam Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Willie Dandy.
Born in Newberry, South Carolina, daughter of the late Edd and Lucretia Wilson. Minnie lived in Woonsocket for over 60 years.
She worked for the former Woonsocket Dress and Fashion Sportswear for several years and then AT Cross for five years prior to retiring.
Minnie was an avid bowler and gardener, she also loved to do crossword puzzles and enjoyed baking.
Minnie was a member of St. James Baptist Church for over 60 years and served on the Pastor's Aide Ministry. She was also Past President of the Friendly Essence Club.
She is survived by one son, Zachary A. Dandy of Gorham, Maine. Two daughters, Bridget L. Konate of Providence and Rosalind A. Mitchell and her husband Wallace of Cranston. Two sisters Euzell Stepney and Mildred Scurry both of Woonsocket. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Cleo Glenn, Virginia Wilson, Bertha Kinard, Walter Wilson, James Wilson, Ruben Wilson, Pervis Wilson, Johnnie Mack Wilson, RD Wilson, Postell Wilson, Edward Wilson, and Columbus Wilson.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 10 AM in St. James Baptist Church, 340 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours will be on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 in St. James Baptist Church from 6-8 PM.
