Nancy J. Durant

Nancy J. Durant, 78, of Woonsocket died Thursday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Durant.
Born and raised in Pawtucket she was a daughter of the late Wilkinson and Julianne Knowles. She was a resident of Woonsocket for over 55 years.
Mrs. Durant worked at Sadwins and was later employed at Dome Publishing in Warwick for many years before retiring.
Nancy enjoyed stitching and liked to spend her spare time reading a good book.
Nancy was a kind, loving and generous person who will be remembered a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She survived by a son Raymond Durant, Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Woonsocket, five daughters Brenda L. Knowles of Woonsocket, Lisa M. Deraleau and her husband, Richard, of Blackstone, Beverly Menard of Manville, Catherine Durant and Cheryl A. Ryan her husband, James, all of Woonsocket. She was the mother of the late Kenneth W. Knowles and Nancy Ellen Durant and sister of the late George Knowles. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and two nieces.
Her funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association-RI Chapter 245 Waterman St. Suite 306 Providence, RI. 02906.
