Norma MacDonald Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Norma M. MacDonald, 102, of Pawtucket, passed on December 28, 2016. She was the wife of the late John W. MacDonald. Mrs. MacDonald was born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late David and Edith (Brookes) Dixon. She lived most of her life in the Fairlawn section of Pawtucket. She was employed by Brown University as a secretary in the Socialology department for twenty years until her retirement in 1979.
Mrs. MacDonald was an eighty two year member of Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church where she sang in the church choir, former Sunday school teacher, girls service club, willing workers and the Mr. and Mrs. Club. Queen Esther Order of the Eastern Star Ch. #2 for over fifty years.
She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Craig D. MacDonald (Claire) and Glenn J. MacDonald (Helen). Four grandchildren Justin, Taryn, Giles and Cailigh.
Calling Hours will be held in the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church 514 Smithfield Avenue Pawtucket on Tuesday January 3, 2017 from 10 to 11 am with a funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church. www.merrickrwilliamsfh.com
