1951 - 2021

WOONSOCKET - With profound sadness, we report that a loving and inspiring lady has passed from our midst. Mrs. Patricia Souza, 69, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2021 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of John Souza, her darling husband for 45 wonderful years.

Born in Norwich, CT on June 20, 1951, she was an only child to the late Theresa Dantico, and was raised in Wilmington, CT.

She was blessed with a unique blend of sweetness and spirit, compassion and confidence, empathy and excitement, determination and daring, fearlessness and forgiveness, and possessed the innate qualities of nurturer and caregiver, which she shared with family, friends, and even strangers throughout her lifetime.

Outgoing and social, she thoroughly enjoyed all that life had to offer, from cultural events to burgers and brews in the back yard and everything in between! With her ever-ready and always-packed suitcase at hand, she could travel by planes, trains, or automobiles on less than a moment's notice . . . and often did so! Her feisty attitude, tenacious spirit, and willingness to 'try anything once' enabled her to inspire those around her, and endear her to most anyone who had the privilege and pleasure of crossing paths with her. Many magical moments and fond memories abound and now become cherished forever.

In addition to her husband, John, mourning her loss are her appreciative children, Gerard, Holly, Julie, and Chris Souza, and many friends.

Patricia was an active and decades-long member the East Woonsocket Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses; accordingly, her services will take place there when scheduling allows.
