Patrick Cooney Obituary
Patrick was a 2009 graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy, Woonsocket and received his BA in Sociology from Fairfield Univ., Fairfield, CT in 2013. He worked in Inventory Control at Perkins - a Gordon Food Service Co., Taunton, MA. He was an experienced guitarist and drummer, who enjoyed collecting instruments and expanding his musical library. Patrick was highly skilled in technical theatre, sound and lighting design. He enjoyed skiing, fishing, cooking, computer gaming, and reading, but his greatest love was music.
Despite having spent many years throughout his life fighting cancer, Patrick always had a positive attitude towards life and a great sense of adventure. His happy disposition and smile made him the friend to many!
Besides his parents, Greg and Laura, Patrick is survived by a sister; Briana Cooney of Woonsocket, a brother; Jordan Cooney of Woonsocket, his paternal grandmother; Lois Cooney of Catonsville, MD, his maternal grandmother; Mary Ruth Buchness of Catonsville, MD and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Patrick was preceded in death by his pa-ternal grandfather; Edward Cooney Sr. and his maternal grandfather; Fredrick Buchness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 6, at 11:00am in St. John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Rd. Cumberland, RI. Burial will be held at a later date in Baltimore, Maryland. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 5, 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patrick's name may be made to Camp Sunshine, 35 Acadia Rd., Casco, ME 04015
