Patrick J. McConaghy Sr.

PAWTUCKET - McConaghy, Patrick J., Sr., 72, of Clyde Street, (Captain Pawtucket Police Department, Retired) died peacefully on April 23, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Kathleen C. (Monaghan) McConaghy.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Grace M. (Scanlon) McConaghy.
Mr. McConaghy was a Captain for the Pawtucket Police Department for 29 years before retiring in 1996. He was a graduate of Bryant College Class of 1973.
Patrick was a life member and past Exalted Ruler of the Pawtucket Elks Club Lodge #920. He was one of the original co-founders of the RI Police Officers Emerald Society. He was a former Board Member of the Pawtucket Police Officers Association and member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #4, the Ireland 32 Club, the Irish Social Club of RI, the Garfield Social Club and the Rehoboth Country Club.
Mr. McConaghy was a United States Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by a son, Patrick J. McConaghy Jr. and his wife Michelle of Stonington, CT; two daughters, Kellyann Anderson and her husband John of East Providence and Kerri Rodrigues and her husband Steve of Burrillville; a sister, Barbara Newberg of Seekonk, MA and eight grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Albert J. Romoli and Grace McCaffrey.
His funeral will be held on Friday April 27, 2018 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Pine Street, Pawtucket at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
